I’m not really the right person to ask. I’ve been using the same trusty Minolta Flashmeter V for close to 30 years now. Tried newer ones but never liked them. The V has never failed me, never needed repairs or maintenance and runs ages on simple AA batteries. You can find them on eBay for around $150. The simpler and slightly cheaper Minolta Auto Meter IV at around $110 is a good alternative. I can’t give you any info on any others as these are the only two types I’ve ever used/owned.
