Hi all..

I’m wondering if someone can throw a figure at me concerning rates for a Flash Designer with 5+ years experiance in Pfalz region.

I’m in the process of securing a contract via another new media agency.

I’ve worked with this agency previously and although they don’t have any more work for me, they have found an in-house placement and want to take a cut.

It will be arranged month by month and I’m wondering how much to quote the middle-man agency for my services… given that it will be a fixed term of a month at a time, not hourly and the middle-man will need to take their percentage.

can anyone give me an idea of this..?

I was thinking around €5000.. but with Flash designers getting €60 an hour.. perhaps I could be asking for more..?

Any advice would be really appreciated.

mach’s gut,
Sentient

p.s €5000 a month @ 160 hours a week (4x40) = €31.25 an hour

hi,

normally you should look in books like „tarifvertrag für designdiesntleistungen“ or ask other designers in the pfalz area to get an overview about the rates that are paid. It also depends on how good you are or how good you think you are.
In the Munich area it would be around 50 to 70 Euros per hour. So you can calculate on how many hours you’ll be working in a month…

cheers,

Thanks nikishi,

This confirmed my general idea of the going rate.

In my country of origin I was in demand, so I would consider myself a mid-high level designer.

I guess I’ll have to have a decent think about just how much below these rates I should go given that its for a fixed term rather than hourly. ie confirming I will be getting a whole month or two worth of work. At my current estimate of around €32 an hour, I’m cheap.. but I’m also not a native German speaker and unemployed at present.. so I figure.. perhaps its about right. I don’t want to be another one of those buggers offering themselves über-cheap however and devaluing the market.

Thanks for the guideline.
